Why did you choose this profession? Md. Abdul Hannan first joined a light engineering workshop as an entry level worker. Now, after seven years of work and with support from CSISA-MEA, he opened his own small workshop.

By attending training facilitated by CSISA-MEA, Md. Hannan and his workforce learned how to improve the quality of the products they manufacture through the use of modern measurement tools and improved metals. He also learned how to expand his customer base through digital marketing, receiving support from CSISA-MEA and learned how to use Facebook and YouTube to advertise his products. The improvements in the quality of his products combined with newly learned marketing techniques helped Md. Hannan to sell 38 machines so far this year totaling 63,40,000 BDT (approximately $71,000 USD) and he expects that, in the second half of the year, he will sell an additional 50 machines earning his company 75,50,000 BDT (approximately $84,000 USD).
Has any of this helped him produce higher quality products?
Yes, use of modern measurement tools, electrode selection, five welding joints and different welding positions, taper angle of lathe machine, metal properties etc. help him to increase product quality.
Did the bookkeeping training help him receive his loan?
Yes, now he keeps his sales record. He is not fully capacitated to maintain bookkeeping, and needs more training on bookkeeping and business planning. To make him more skilled CSISA-MEA selection him to received three days residential Management Training from BARI.
He said that he received workforce training, but how did the training help his business?
By the training his workforce skilled on accuracy and finishing of product which ultimately increase product quality. Also their Thrasher machine Capacity Increased. In Past time their machine capacity wase 1 Acre per hours but Now their Machine capacity is 1.5 Acre per hours.
Are his employee's making better quality products that the customers are happy with?
Yes! He & their customers are happy for better quality machine but he said they need more skill development training.
Has this higher quality helped him to reach new customers or is he hoping to link with a lead firm so they can place orders?
Yes! day by day he reach new customers & he deserve to link with a lead firm.
Customers are quite happy with the product quality, this is the reason previous customers referred new customers to buy machines from him. CSISA-MEA also influenced him to make a market channel by giving old customers some incentive. In the present he didn't want to link with LF but he wanted to expand his business in FtF zone specially CXB, Faridpur, Jashore, Kustia.
Have you introduced any safety measures in the last one month? What was it?
Yes! That are Welding shield, welding glass, gloves, musk, sanitizer and first aid box.
Can you explain the changes in your business in terms of product quality and profit in last one year (please quantify)
Their main products are different types of rice thresher and maize sheller. Compared with last year his production increased as well as quality.
